Marshal Zeringue thinks so, in an article on spot-on.com entitled “The Finest Feminist Film of 2006?”

Should point out here, he was talking about the ending of Out of Sight.

And even though he’s wrong about that ending being better in the movie, he’s right about Carmen Colson being a terrific character. I’m not sure she’s all that much smarter than Wayne, as he says, but she’s smart about different things. Carmen and Wayne make a good team.

Sure, I can see Killshot as a feminist movie.

(Full disclosure here, Marshal Zeringue also runs a blog called “The Page 69 Test” and he’s featured my books. He’s a good guy).

All Hollywood films today are feminist tracts. Some kind of law out there in La-La Land.

Even the ones, where they don’t show a strong woman or even a major female character, qualify ‘cause it’s full of moronic men.

Don’t you guys know nothin’?

Jeez.

Yes, while there are plenty of dumb men in Elmore Leonard novels, there are also smart, competent men. It’s true, in movies these days a lot of men are either morons or super heroes.

Wayne and Carmen Colson in Killshot are terrific, they really are an equal couple in that they compliment each other’s strengths - they’re both strong characters andthey both have weaknesses.

So, of course, it’s not surprising that would be hard for Hollywood to understand. You don’t even see it that often in books.

Hey dudes - Carmen Colson in Killshot is one of my favourite female characters in all of pulp fiction.
And Diane Lane embodied her perfectly.
