Great stuff on La Yuma, Gregg.

Another Yuma also may have been inspired by Elmore’s use of the term, this one on American TV. Anyone remember The Rebel? It starred Nick Adams—a guy I always thought of as Steve McQueen lite—as Johnny Yuma, a misunderstood Civil War-era bad-ass good guy.

The show ran from ‘59 to ‘61. Elmore’s story was published in ‘53, and the movie hit theaters in ‘57, so the timing works.

Did some hard time in La Yuma back in ‘84.
A hundred years after Elmore’s depiction, yet very little has changed.
