At something called Tyee Books: http://www.thetyee.ca/Books/2008/10/28/ElmoreLeonard/

It’s says, among other things, that, “He assumes we have the intelligence to understand what his characters are going through, so he doesn’t waste our time telling us,” and that he’s, “a satirist comparable to Twain and Vonnegut. We will not see his like again.”

I guess every reviewer or columnist thinks they need some “balance,” so he also says, “he also relies on research, sometimes too much,” which I think is just wrong. The way the research is blended into an EL book is about the best I’ve ever read in any book. It’s just Elmore makes it look easy - the way he makes everything look easy.
