What is your favorite Elmore Leonard cover?  Is there a story there or do you just like it?

City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit. Has that whole ‘70 movies feel to it. Picked up a signed copy at a used book store in Bellingham, WA, a few years ago even though I have an original copy of my own off a remainders table at a mall bookstore back about the time, ‘83, I started reading Mr. L.

Pagan Babies my next favorite because it’s, IMOHO, is his best work. Like the words inside the cover makes you think.

How about the ugliest? Westerns shouldn’t count. Split Images. Don’t get that one at all. Terrible.

Elmore designed that cover himself.

Knew there was something different, special about it. Thanks for sharing.

I have a few of the Avon paperbacks that I really dig—Cat Chaser, The Switch, Touch. Also like the Dell paperbacks of Moonshine War and Swag (subtitled “Formerly titled Ryan’s Rules”). A lot more visually pleasing than mass paperbacks I have of Maximum Bob, Pronto, Stick, etc.

I’ve always loved the first paperback edition of “Pronto.” I have two copies—one dog eared, one mint. I love the Italian colors on Rylan’s Stetson. Very fitting. It’s my favorite cover by far.

I like the paperback of cat chaser, don’t know if it was the original it had a gun with a silencer, and the Dominican flag,

it was a big deal for me to see that here in the states, I’m Dominican, and it made me proud to see it on a book, even more my favorite author.
