August West has written about Valdez is Coming.

I think he really gets it right, especially when he writes that, “This isn’t a story about vengeance, it’s about correcting a wrong, a noble attempt to seek justice. Valdez is a modest man, who possesses a hidden courage to do what is right. This is a profound novel.”

This was my favorite Elmore Leonard western. I must have read it in one night, laughing, twisting and turning in bed because it was so funny! Second fav’s gotta be ‘Forty Lashes Less One’ –– which I wish to death a writer and director with some real cinematic talent would step up to the plate and make.
