Without any activity here to look at, I found the Gallery section of the website, which I had not seen before.  There are some interesting pictures there.  One had Elmore playing football for U of D High in 1943 against Cooley.  In the early part of my life my family lived near U of D and my siblings all went to Cooley, although a few years later than that game.  Roughly what part of Detroit did his family live in in those years?

Elmore lived at many addresses in Detroit. A couple are in Honey’s Room:

Jurgen’s family made their home at the Abington Apartment Hotel on Seward.

Honey was a buyer now in Better Dresses at Hudson’s, moving up in her world from a flat in Highland Park to a one-bedroom apartment on Covington Drive, a block from Palmer Park where she’d learned to ice skate in the winter and play tennis in the summer.  At night she would hear the streetcars on Woodward Avenue turn around at the fairgrounds and head back six miles to downtown and the Detroit River.

I have to consult my notes, but one was near U of D, in High School, one was on Highland, in Highland Park, and one was near the Cathedral.
