If they haven’t been mentioned already (I’m new here) I want to recommend the novels of James O. Born. So far there are three out, all set in Florida. The main character is a cop named Tasker. I just finished reading the first one, Walking Money, and it’s very good.

There’s also a cop in it named Derek Sutter. Hmmmm.

Are you putting me on?  Do you know Jim?
Did you meet him at Bouchercon?

Okay, yes, I met him at Bouchercon. He’s a very funny guy.

But still, Walking Money is a really good book and there is a cop in it named Sutter. I’m reading Escape Clause now and it’s also really good.

Jim’s got a new one coming out in February called Field of Fire

We go back a ways.  I guess he named the character after me.  At least the last name.  He made him a bad guy.

At least in Walking Money Sutter isn’t all bad, he sure keeps you guessing. I just picked up Escape Clause, so maybe he’s back.
