Anyone know if they ship new releases on the releases date, or can you expect it to arrive in your mailbox on the 12th?

I’m going out of town on the 14th and want to have it with me when I leave.

Road Dogs is getting what in the book biz is known as a one-day laydown.  The date is May 12.  This generally means that the book is not supposed to be sold before that date.  Bookstores even have to sign contracts to uphold the one day laydown.  The boxes of books arrive stamped “Do not sell until such and such date.”  I am guessing that the books will ship May 8 or May 11 so you would get it on May 12.  Don’t hold me to that however.

If any of you are going to order Road Dogs or anything else from Amazon, please do it through the site bookstore.

I will be discussing the bookstore in greater detail very soon, but the jist of it is, we get a kickback on every book sold.  I pay for the site out of my pocket and it would be cool if it paid for itself.

I’m getting the same sort of feeling when one of my favorite musicians releases a new album.

I pre-ordered Road Dogs—along with Valdez is Coming and Split Images. Not bad, 3 books for 30 bucks w/free shipping.

FYI, the estimated delivery date is 5/14, though Gregg is right, I did some research and most times they ship them out a few days prior to the release date. Plus I got 2-day prime shipping.
