With Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, Australian and Welsh respectively, playing the big western parts in 3:10 to Yuma, the question is: Aren’t there any American actors who can play those roles?  I’m not talking about guys like Robert Duvall who can be in every western made as far as I’m concerned.  I’m talking about the young, lead good guys and bad guys.  Remember.  Tom Cruise turned down 3:10 to Yuma, so forget him.  Brad Pitt is playing Jesse James.  Anybody else?

Kevin Costner, though he’s getting up there now too.  Brad Pitt’s no spring chicken either.  You’re right though, we have no one who would qualify as the young Gary Cooper or John Wayne.  The young Henry Fonda or Jimmy Stewart.  With the emerging popularity of the new Western feature will rise new American stars, eventual acting legends like the others.  Who’s it gonna be?
