In your book - UP IN HONEY’S ROOM - you mention a nightclub called Frank Barbaro’s Bowery.  Frank Barbaro was my father.  I was just wondering if you had ever been there.  I was very young and don’t remember anything.  Just hoping for an anecdote.

I asked Elmore about The Bowery:

He said: “I went there in the late 40s.  I remember the head waiter or somebody in charge would carry a table up above his head into the middle of the floor if you gave him a tip, like in Goodfellas.  Frankie Rapp was the comedian and he told a lot of off color stuff.”
