Is there a publication date for the new novel?

To get ready I’ve been re-reading Out of Sight. What a great book. Looking forward to seeing what Foley’s up to in California.

I started reading OUT OF SIGHT again last week, also.  I’m about 150 pages in.  (Mr. Leonard has given us permission to end a sentence with a preposition.)

TOUCHSTONE:

Cuba Libre is the name of a bar.  Chino kills the guy who collects the reward money for the prison break right outside of the bar.

CUBA LIBRE (1998) is one Mr. Leonard’s classic novels.  It followed OUT OF SIGHT (1996).

There are a bunch of Touchstones in OUT OF SIGHT.  The one above caught my eye for the first time.

Is there a publication date for the new novel?

Any word on this, Gregg?

How ‘bout a chapter or two or even a Foley short story?  I wouldn’t mind.

Elmore is within 40-60 pages of a complete manuscript.  The book will not be called Foley’s Back or Cundo Rey.  The actual title is embargoed.  I hope to tell you all soon.  I’m too close to it all to say anything except it’s funny, tough and witty without breaking a sweat.  What do you expect?

So, no Foley’s Back (we’ll have to call it that till we get the new title, I guess) this spring. Even the fall seems soon now.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more Gator Bait then, I was enjoying it.

And then there’s this: (the description looks good)

I haven’t logged on in a while.

Is there anything new to tell us about this book, particulary an estimated release date?

And the title is now Road Dogs.

I read Out of Sight for the first time last week. Quite brilliant, one of Elmore’s very best.
I had already seen Soderberg’s excellent adaptation, which was quite difficult to expel from my mind whilst reading the novel.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I absolutely hate reading a novel after seeing the film, however good, because it it just impossible to not imagine those characters with the actors faces. Sometimes it us unavoidable though. A great film adaption is an excellent way of discovering writers previously fallen below one’s radar.
