Andy Dick? The more I read about this project makes me less confident that it will become anything of merit. I cannot imagine what forced the film makers to include Andy Dick. Also, now it’s a comedy. There is almost always humor in Dutch’s novels, but they cannot be considered comical. You would think that a film maker would look to JUSTIFIED, GET SHORTY, JACKIE BROWN for inspiration on how to interpret the novel to film in a respectful manner. I am especially pissed about this since it will be filmed in Michigan. I hope I am wrong, and it will turn out to be a big hit, but nothing I have read about FREAKY DEAKY makes a good impression.

Andy Dick brings in all the refinement and pedigree he displayed in epics like Dude, Where’s My Car? Just the shot in the arm FREAKY needed. Who’s next, Carrot Top?

Scrum, that made me laugh out loud. Thank you. Humor is always good to take the sting from an unfolding tragedy.

Here is some food for thought:  If they found a way to cast Charlie Sheen, it would be an up grade!

I just read about Andy Dick’s latest meltdown. I have to believe the makers of FREAKY DEAKY will be forced to replace him.

What the hell is going on with this movie? Can’t they keep a cast together?

I didn’t think Brendan Fraser was a good fit for Skip anyway. Not sure about Christian Slater either. I like Michael Jai White, but I prefer Craig Robinson in that role.

And Matt Dillon as Chris would’ve worked.

I agree with you.  Dillion or even Fraser would have been fine as Chris.  I believe they had William Macy cast as Woody - I love Macy, but that’s a terrible miscast.  John Goodman would be better.  You need a big, sloppy guy in that role.  Craig Robinson is okay as Donnell, but I would have preferred Idris Elba (Stringer Bell from The Wire) instead.

If this ever gets made, it’s probably destined to go straight to DVD like Killshot.

How come no promotion of this movie on this site?  Just found out through the post about EL’s agency deal that this movie has screened at Tribeca festival.

Is Elmore distancing himself from this one? Not surprised really….

I don’t think so. There are plenty of Freaky Deaky movie links on EL’s facebook page.

I liked the few clips that I saw. It will be way way better than Killshot, I have no doubt about that.

Oh, Facebook
Yeah, I don’t do that…

I’ll be looking for this one regardless.  BTW, I liked (most) of Killshot.  Not loved, mind
