Elmore Leonard’s Ten Rules of Writing

image

Coming this Fall, at long last, Elmore Leonard’s 10 Rules of Writing in a handsome, illustrated giftbook that’s a must for all writers.

Elmore Leonard, the New York Times bestselling author and grand master of the novel, gives us his ten rules for straight-forward writing. This piece has already achieved “classic” status and is referred to by teachers, writers and readers.

Gift Edition

This low-priced gift edition is the perfect present for the holidays. This beautiful little book has a cover of leather and cloth and is illustrated by Joe Ciardiello, whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, Rolling Stone, and the New York Times, as well as in the companion book to Martin Scorsese’s PBS series The Blues.  Joe’s detailed free-flowing, yet elegant visuals perfectly offset Elmore’s sage advice to writers.

Limited Edition:

A special signed limited edition is destined to become a collector’s item. A beautiful package for a beautiful book, that will be the highlight of any writer’s bookshelf.

While these details are not finalized, the Limited Edition will most likely have a signed tipsheet, gilded edges, colored, marbled endpapers, a slipcase (made of either leather or cloth) and a ribbon.

You may have the Rules already, but you don’t have the Book, and you’re going to want one or three.  To say this would make an excellent gift for the writer or thinker on your list is an understatement.

Of course, the 10 Rules will be out in plenty of time for Christmas and Hanukah.

More details to come and maybe even a sample illustration from the book.
