Elmore to be Presented Raymond Chandler Award
Elmore is to receive the Raymond Chandler Award at the Courmayeur (Italy) Noir in Festival which runs from December the 5th to December the 11th in Courmayeur, Italy.
A description of the award:
The Raymond Chandler Award was set up in 1986 with the full support of the Raymond Chandler Estate and its aim is to pay tribute to a writer who has shown exceptional ability in using the mystery genre – in all its multi-faceted forms – to portray the world in which we live, an artist who has delved into and described he contradictions and paradoxes of individual characters and the societies in which they live, just like Raymond chandler did in his body of work. Chandler’s mysteries transcended the mere genre to become a fundamental part of modern literature. It is for those reasons that past editions of this award have been presented to such very different writers as among others. Graham Greene, Leonardo Sciascia, James G. Ballard, Manual Vasquez Montalban, Frederick Forsyth, P. D. James, Osvaldo Soriano John Le Carré or John Grisman all of whom honored us with their presence at the Festival.
Today we are happy and proud to say that Noir in Festival is one of Europe’s most important events dedicated to the meeting between film and literature, fiction and reality. It portrays the various facets of mystery that go from suspense to spy stories and from events to real-life art Noir in Festival is a must for all those who are passionate about films and books and the exceptional caliber of its guests and participants attracts the attention of the world’s media.
