Border Shootout was an adaptation of an early Elmore western, The Law at Randado. Young rancher Kirby Frye (Cody Glenn) is appointed deputy in a small town fed up with aging sheriff, John Danaher, (Glenn Ford) tyrannized by ruthless Phil Sundeen, (Jeff Kaake) the son of a wealthy cattle rancher, who heads up a rustler’s gang. They find themselves in a bloody confrontation when the sheriff uncovers the truth. Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing on “Dallas”) was also in the cast. Ford, in his small part was said to be walking through his role. Overall               critics considered Border Shootout to be an amateurish production.
Elmore played no role in this straight-to-video project.

They took on the law, the law fought back.
